Welcome to the Pedagogy in the Environmental Humanities working group, sponsored by a seed grant from the Center for Science and Society at Columbia University. This colloquium is designed to facilitate dialogue among educators in the greater New York City area about teaching at the crossroads of environmental science and humanistic inquiry. The group will prepare a workbook of syllabi and host a symposium at the end of the 2015/2016 academic year to share research and experiences about instruction in this new interdisciplinary field.
The group meets monthly during the academic year to workshop syllabi and discuss current research in the field. If you are interested in participating, please contact us using the form on this website.
Meeting dates and locations will be posted on this webpage once they are available.
Our next two meetings will be Monday, October 26th, and Monday, November 30th from 7:00-8:30pm at Columbia University, Schermerhorn Hall 603. We will meet monthly until April/May, when we will host our symposium.
The convenors are Frankie Pavia (Columbia University, Earth and Environmental Sciences) and Jason Bell (Yale University, English).
